Welcome to Open House, where you’ll find the latest news and updates from The DPS under one roof.

This month we've got a variety of articles for you to enjoy - from our charity awards, to our latest 'Be the Adjudicator' case study. You’ll also have the opportunity to get to know our team a little better with another 'Cuppa Catch Up', this time with Chris Jackson, the Special Operations Manager.

Finally, we’ve been working hard over the last few months to make our website easier for you to use, so have a read about the changes we’re starting to roll out. We really hope they’ll make it easier for you to find the advice you need.

We've improved our website

As part of our commitment to providing you the best service we can, we’re always looking to improve. We realised a while back that some of the pages on our website needed a little revamp.

We’ve spent the last few months rearranging and rewriting some of the information on our website, so you can find out what you need to know much faster and to make it a nicer place to be.

You'll see more of these changes appearing over the next few weeks and with them, we hope you find the site easier to use.

Grab a cuppa with Chris

Get to know the team behind The Deposit Protection Service!

If you've been patiently waiting for the next instalment of 'Cuppa Catch Up’, the wait is over!

Chris is our Special Operations Manager - he’s always smiling and trying to do the best for our customers so we jumped at the chance to ask him a few questions for our blog.

Get to know Chris a little better!

What would you do when the worst happens?

Be the Adjudicator is our interactive case study designed to give you a better understanding of how we come to decisions in the event of a deposit dispute.

‘Emma’ will guide you through a very sensitive case, where the adjudicators had to remain independent as usual, and make what was a difficult decision.

Could you separate emotion from the facts?

Can you come to the right decision?

The latest from our charity fund

Every quarter we award up to £20,000 through our Charity Donations Fund to charities focusing their efforts on housing-related issues.

We're delighted to announce the two successful applicants to our sixth round of awards - both receiving £10,000.

> Launchpad Reading - helping Reading's most vulnerable people turn their lives around

> H3 - working with those who have been homeless before, alongside other agencies, to help local homeless people

You can find out more about the great work they’re doing in their communities over on our blog.
