Welcome to our Christmas edition of Open Ho Ho Ho House.

With the festive season now in full swing and 2015 drawing to a close, this month’s issue has a bit of everything from the last 12 months and more…

We’ve got news about retaining the Government contract, your feedback on our 2015 programme of dispute workshops and the return of the ESTAS awards.

Plus there's marvellous Movember moustaches and a new, seasonal Be the Adjudicator case study to test yourself with.

We hope you enjoy the read and on behalf of everyone at The DPS, we’d like to wish you all a very merry Christmas.

Meet the ‘Movember Moustaches’

As many of you will be aware, November is the month where things get a little hairy. Gentlemen across the globe take up the challenge of growing their most impressive moustaches to raise money for a great cause. We’re no different here at The DPS. The guys in the team jumped at the challenge to see who can grow the best one.

Feast your eyes on some of the glorious growth below.

In all, The DPS team raised £830, which will be donated to Movember, who raise money for fighting prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity.

The return of the ESTAS

The prestigious Estate and Letting Agent Awards (The ESTAS) have returned and we’d love your support.

In 2015, we were delighted to take home the award for Tenancy Deposit Protection supplier of the year. It meant even more to us because it was awarded solely on your votes.

We also took on board the feedback you gave us through the voting process about where you’d like us to be better. You can find out how we’ve made a ‘magnificent seven’ improvements to our service over on our new dedicated site.

We’re entering the awards again this year and would love to retain our crown, with your help.

A new contract, the same high standards

We’re delighted to announce that after a competitive tender, we’ve retained the Government contract to continue operating our Custodial deposit protection scheme. And to top it off, the Government gave our tender an evaluation score of 95.75%!

The rental sector is expanding and there’ll be some new competition in the custodial deposit protection market, and we’re looking forward to playing a leading role in the industry.

It’s fantastic we can continue providing a high quality service to you, but we won't get complacent, we want to raise the bar. So we're making substantial investment to improve our systems and service even further.

How you rated our dispute workshops

In November, we hosted our last dispute workshop of the year at our home in Bristol.

It’s been a fantastic 12 months, and we’ve really enjoyed being able to share our adjudication expertise with so many of you across the country. Here’s what you thought about them…

› 76% of you strongly agree that the workshop was relevant

› 65% of you strongly agree that the workshop was engaging and easy to understand

› 44% of you agreed the right amount of time was given to each section

This gives us some clear direction for where we can improve, and we’re already starting to make changes for next year’s workshops which we’ll be telling you about in the New Year.

It's Chriiiiiiist-mess!

‘Be the adjudicator’, our interactive case study can help you get a better understanding of how we come to decisions in the event of a deposit dispute.

This month, we give you the chance to pit your wits against a contested Christmas case.

If you’re up for the challenge and confident you can make the right decision, go ahead and take a seat at the adjudicator’s table.

Take up the challenge today
