SAFEagent Awareness Week - we're fully behind it!

SAFEagent Awareness Week is coming soon, taking place from the 6-10 June. Throughout the week, SAFEagent will highlight the risks of using letting agents without Client Money Protection (CMP).

As a company that is committed to protecting tenants' deposits, we're fully behind it. And we'd like to encourage all letting agents to become members of SAFEagent.

Take a look at our blog. We talk about the importance of SAFEagent to our industry and the peace of mind it gives to tenants.

Lettings Live and The Lettings Agency of the Year Awards 2016

We're delighted to be sponsors of Lettings Live and The Lettings Agency of the Year Awards 2016. One of the most prestigious events in a letting agents' calendar.

We hope to go one better this year after taking home a Silver Award in the 2015 Supplier of the Year category. Fingers crossed!

If you're at the live event, stop by our stand. Two of our business experts (Chris and David) will be sharing their knowledge about tenancy deposit protection and answering any of your questions.

We'd like to wish all those who entered the awards the best of luck. We look forward to seeing you there.

Why you should come and see us at Lettings Live!

Share the #fridgemonster video with your student tenants

Our #fridgemonster competition is now live!

We're asking students to take a photo of the inside of their fridge (spotless or otherwise) and tweet @The_DPS with the hashtag #fridgemonster. One lucky household could win a professional clean for their student let.

But more importantly, we want to educate students on their responsibility to keep their properties clean and in good repair.

Share the video with your student tenants and help us spread the message.

What's that coming out of the fridge?

The new model tenancy agreement - striking a fair balance!

In February, the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) updated their 'Model agreement for a shorthold tenancy'.

The agreement is designed to strike a fair balance between the needs of the tenant and landlord when entering into a new tenancy.

It's no secret that in recent years there's been a greater demand for rental properties with a longer tenancy agreement. The DCLG recognised this, and now there’s a really useful step-by-step process that a landlord and tenant can go through before signing on the dotted line.

The latest from our Charity Donations Fund

Drum roll please... We're very pleased to have awarded Bosco House, Calderdale Smartmove and No Limits support through our charity fund.

Calderdale Smartmove will receive £10,000, whilst Bosco House and No Limits will receive £5,000 each. The donations will help the charities to continue doing fantastic work in their local communities. Here's just a little bit about them...

> Calderdale Smartmove - provides a high quality, client-centred service helping homeless and vulnerable housed people

> Bosco House - a small charitable organisation based in Liverpool that provides 23 bed spaces to single homeless men

> No Limits - offers a free and confidential service for children and young people under 26 who live in Southampton

Our blog page is full of great Charity Fund stories. Make sure you pop over and see for yourself.
